AI discharge summary drafts the comprehensive end-of-admission document — diagnosis, course, procedures, medications, follow-up plan — from the longitudinal record of the admission, for clinician review and signature. In HealthOS, the discharge summary is generated against the same record the admitting team operated on, governed by the Advisory Principle.

Discharge summaries are time-consuming and frequently delayed; delays produce gaps in handover to community physicians, missed follow-ups, and readmission risk. The summary often gets written from memory, not from the record.

A structured discharge summary draft is generated, with each clinical claim linked to its source event in the record.

The discharging clinician reviews, edits, and signs. Patient and primary-care recipient are notified.

The summary flows to the Patient Platform and to the community-physician inbox simultaneously.

Audit trail captures the model version and the clinician's edits.

No. The clinician reviews, edits, and signs. The signed summary is the clinician's clinical statement; the AI provides the draft scaffold.
Can primary-care physicians outside the institution receive the summary?
Yes — through the patient's record, FHIR-compliant exchange, or institutionally-configured pathways.
